Our Mission
At MEA NSW Australia Ltd (MEA Charity), we are proud to be a grassroots, volunteer-driven organisation with one clear mission: no family should go hungry.
We provide affordable food hampers and essential support to individuals and families facing hardship — whether through poverty, homelessness, unemployment, disability, natural disasters, or the rising cost of living.
By partnering with local businesses and rescuing surplus food, we not only nourish struggling households but also fight food waste, creating a more sustainable future for everyone.
What makes us different is our heart. Driven by compassion, dignity, and community spirit, we don’t just deliver food — we restore hope, build resilience, and strengthen communities.
Starting in the Parramatta suburbs and expanding across low-income areas of Australia, we are committed to building a brighter, fairer future, one family at a time.
Our Programs
Food Assistance
At MEA Charity, we believe no family should have to go without food. Our Food Assistance Program is designed to ease the pressure of rising living costs by providing affordable or free groceries, fresh produce, and pantry staples to families doing it tough.
Through partnerships with supermarkets, suppliers, and local businesses, we rescue quality surplus food and redirect it to those who need it most. Families can access support in a way that’s dignified, flexible, and tailored to their needs — whether that’s through emergency hampers, weekly essentials, or low-cost shopping options.
By reducing food insecurity, we not only put meals on the table but also give families breathing space to focus on rebuilding their lives.
Educational Support
We understand that knowledge is a powerful tool for breaking cycles of struggle. Our Educational Program provides families and community members with access to workshops, skill-building sessions, and resources designed to empower them for a brighter future.
From financial literacy and healthy cooking classes to digital skills and vocational training, our programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of each family. By equipping individuals with practical knowledge and confidence, we help them create lasting opportunities, build independence, and strengthen their communities.
Clothing Donations
Everyone deserves to feel comfortable, confident, and cared for. Our Clothing Donation Program provides struggling families with access to quality clothing for all ages, ensuring warmth, dignity, and confidence for every member of the community.
We accept gently used or new clothing donations from individuals, businesses, and community groups. These items are sorted and distributed directly to families in need, helping to reduce financial stress while promoting sustainability by giving clothes a second life.
Through this program, we not only meet immediate needs but also foster a sense of dignity, pride, and support for families as they navigate challenging times.
Counseling Services
We provide professional, confidential support to help individuals and families cope with life’s challenges, build resilience, and find hope for a brighter future.
