At MEA NSW Australia Ltd (MEA Charity), we believe no family should ever go hungry.
We are a self-funded, community-led organisation driven by volunteers who are passionate about supporting families in need.
By rescuing surplus food and working with local partners, we nourish households, reduce food waste, and strengthen communities across Sydney.

Lin’s Story
Lin and her family reached out to MEA Charity during a time of financial hardship.
Through our food relief program, we were able to provide groceries and practical support to help ease some of the stress her family was experiencing.

Denis’s Story
Denis has been connected with MEA Charity for several years and occasionally reaches out when he needs support.
After being discharged from hospital following throat surgery, Denis contacted us asking for help with food during his recovery. We delivered food hampers to make sure he had essential groceries while he recovered.

Emergency Hamper
A man contacted us asking for help during a difficult time. We prepared a free food hamper for him so he could get through the week. Sometimes a small act of kindness can make a big difference.
Supporting Our Homeless
There is a gentleman in our area who often stops by just to say hello when he passes the shop. He spends time around Epping Park and looks after his sister as well. Whenever we have spare food from our Woolworths donations, we share bread and other essentials with them and remind them they are always welcome to ask for help if they need it.
Special Dietary Hampers
Some of our community members have special dietary needs. We prepare hampers with fresh vegetables, fruit, gluten-free, or vegetarian items when requested. One couple who recently arrived in Australia often asks for this support, and we are always happy to help.
